Selby duly delivered the goods in their must-win game at Scarborough.
The 18-10 win at Newby on a quagmire pitch sealed the Seasiders' relegation fate while Sellby moved up to eighth place in Yorkshire One.
After Toby Pemberton missed a penalty, Selby took an 20th-minute lead when Mathew Smith fed No 8 Jamie Pocklington from a maul and the forward powered over on the blindside.
Scarborough soon hit back with a try by scrum-half Freeman, but Ras missed an easy conversion.
Selby, who had been guilty of over elaboration, missed a good chance and were let off the hook by Ras again when he missed a penalty chance.
The visitors regained the lead two minutes after the interval when Andy Bennett spun out of a tackle and spread the ball to the blind side where Toby Pemberton touched down unopposed. His own conversion effort hit a post.
Pemberton then slotted over a penalty to make it 13-5 and just after the hour Pocklington stole the ball after a high kick from Pemberton to put in Andy Gabel.
Scarborough were playing above themselves and were rewarded late on with a try by hooker Williamson.
Selby travel to Old Brodleians this coming Saturday before hosting leaders Malton and Norton at Sandhill Lane.
