FLANNELETTE pyjamas (Evening Press, February 10), are the ideal bedtime outfit during this cold snap and I am hoping for a set like those in your picture.
My favourites at the moment carry the cheery greeting: "happy winter" from jolly blue snowmen. The ensemble is completed by angora-wool bedsocks and short, white cotton gloves.
There may be a frisson of excitement at this revelation, but the gloves are worn over lashings of moisturiser, purely to alleviate the chapping associated with scullerymaid's hands. The 'master' did present me with a ruched elbow-length set in black satin, but they were most unsuitable and speedily exchanged for wholesome items.
If I persevere with the rubber gloves he also splashed out on (in a stunning shade of burnt orange) each time my hands plunge into hot suds, I could eventually dispense with the wrist-length variety at bedtime and keep them for weddings. Instead, those heart-shaped diamond ear studs (also pictured) should glamorise my winceyette world. I'll pass on the Stephen Lewis tongue piercing (also February 10). Whatever will the daredevil report on next?
