THERE will be a double celebration at Bootham Crescent on Saturday and Nestl will join in the party spirit by donating 2,500 chocolate bars from its new Double range.
City supporters will be celebrating securing a long-term future at their home ground for the last 72 years, as well as the club's second Ladies Day.
Coinciding with Valentine's Day, Saturday's match against Mansfield will see all female fans given a free chocolate bar made in York.
Ladies will have the choice between the new Double Chocolate and Double Berry bars before they are even out in the shops. Female fans wishing to attend the game can also benefit by receiving a £1 discount on any tickets purchased in advance at the ticket office.
Nestl are the club's official community partner and currently sponsor Bootham Crescent's Family Stand.
City communications director Sophie McGill said: "The Ladies Day is part of the Nationwide Supporters of Tomorrow initiative. We are delighted Nestl is supporting this event and the chocolate bars are perfect for Saturday's double celebration.
"Saturday's game will be a momentous occasion in the history of our great club and will be a celebration of the continuation of professional football at Bootham Crescent. We hope the people of York will support this event by attending the game in great numbers."
Representatives from York City Ladies FC will also attend and the board will hand over a cheque for £500 to assist them with their operating costs.
Abbi Webster, captain of York City Ladies, said: "This is a tremendous gesture from York City and these funds will help the team significantly."
