Edredon Bleu, who has shared the headlines this season with his Gold Cup-winning stablemate Best Mate, has an outstanding chance of making some more at Wincanton tomorrow.

The £17,000 Betfair Chase is the target for the Henrietta Knight-trained gelding, who will surely be difficult to beat under the guidance of regular rider Jim Culloty.

Unbeaten in four starts this winter, Edredon Bleu gained his most prestigious and popular success at Kempton on Boxing Day when, just a matter of days before his 12th birthday, he clinched the King George V1 Chase in ultra-game style.

Jim Lewis, the owner of Best Mate, is a very lucky man to also have a horse of the calibre of Edredon Bleu, who is assured of a huge reception if he extends his winning run to five in tomorrow's feature event.

Fork Lightning is my fancy in the Dick Reynolds Novices' Chase. Alan King's high-class gelding gave the odds-on Lord Sam a real fright at Kempton last month before eventually going down by one and a quarter lengths.

He faces nothing of Lord Sam's class tomorrow and is fancied to go one better under the in-form Richard Johnson.

Accipiter is taken to extend his winning sequence in the Dick Reynolds 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle.

Toby Balding's five-year-old is enjoying a lucrative winter, having won three of his last four starts. A previous course and distance winner, Accipiter is fancied to have the edge over Jollyolly, another prolific score.

The useful Material World (2.00) and the ultra-consistent Goldbrook (4.00) are two others to consider at Wincanton.

At Huntingdon, Edmo Yewkay bids to put his Cheltenham entry to the test in the £15,000 Chatteris Fen Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.

Tim Easterby's charge is twice a winner this season, his latest success coming at Doncaster 12 days ago, when he beat Emerging Star by a length.

Edmo Yewkay has more on his plate tomorrow, but he will need to acquit himself well if he is earn himself a place in the line-up for Triumph Hurdle at next month's Cheltenham Festival.

Colin Tinkler has enjoyed an excellent run since returning from Spain in November to take over George Ward's yard at Compton in Berkshire.

Formerly based at Malton, from where he trained and rode with notable success, Tinkler has good prospects with my Nap selection Sungates in the Tote Exacta Handicap Hurdle.

A winner at Folkestone last time, Sungates has had just two outings this season and is open to further improvement. Tom Doyle again has the mount.
