Out of proportion
Home Secretary David Blunkett plans to set up an FBI-style agency to combat all serious crime in this country (February 9).
I am surprised because, according to Home Office figures, there has only been a minimal increase in serious crime.
Let us hope it fizzles out like a number of his other grandiose expensive schemes.
Mr Blunkett seems to lack a sense of proportion. In response to two partygoers dying in a hail of machine gun bullets in Birmingham he decided to ban a certain type of low-powered airgun.
This can only have a negative effect and will tie up our over-stretched police force for a least the next two years.
Teflon Tony and Blunderkett have run out of ideas. It's time they went.
