RAPID-FIRE Malton Bacon Factory could hardly have been quicker off the mark as they moved into second place of the Leeper Hare York and District premier division.
En route to bagging second place after a 3-0 win at Dunnington, they needed only 50 seconds to break the deadlock through Nick Drew.
Dunnington pressed forward and created chances, with Simon Wood hitting the bar and Ben Small forcing a desperate save from the Factory 'keeper.
Factory struck again just af-ter half an hour when centre-back Paul Flintoft was left unmarked to head home before Nick Cass hit their third two minutes later.
Dringhouses remained top after a 4-0 home win over Bishopthorpe. Mark Woodward and Lee Bond scored in the first half with Andy Barkway and Adam Fishwick adding two more after the break.
Nestl Rowntree's tendency for last-gasp lapses surfaced again in losing 3-2 at home to Wigginton Black Horse.
Andy Kennedy gave them the lead after 12 minutes with Anthony Luck equalising on 30.
Two minutes later Mick Burdett restored 'Trees lead from close-range but Luck levelled yet again five minutes after the restart and in the final minute Luck struck for his hat-trick.
Steve Cross claimed four goals for Copmanthorpe as they thumped a weakened Rufforth 6-0. Tom Seastron and Matty Bastock completed the scoring.
Hamilton Panthers surrendered top spot in division one to Thorpe United as they were held to a draw at St John's College.
The students were two up with an Andy Sherlock goal five minutes before the break and one from Owen Jones on the hour but Panthers countered with goals in the last ten minutes from Simon Marshall and Ben Rhodes.
Thorpe had a more comfortable encounter at Norwich Union where goals from Shane Singleton, Phil Fowler, James Tweedy and Adam Garner to one in reply from Matt Devereaux sealed the points.
Haxby's man-of-the-match, Mark Scoreby, was on form with all three goals to beat Crayke 3-0.
Wilberfoss, second in division two, slipped up at Poppleton where Joe Vaughan and Craig Suttle put the home side 2-0 ahead by the interval. Dave Bailes' reply after the turn-round was too little.
Huby used the wind to their advantage at home to Selby RSSC and were two up through David Adams and Martin Durrant. Railway Club could only manage Steve O'Mahoney's strike in response.
Rawcliffe Rangers gave unbeaten division three leaders Tockwith a close game before going down 2-1. Nick Howiston struck first for Tockwith, Dale Phillips equalised early in the second half direct from a free-kick but 15minutes from time Andy Wilson used the wind to his advantage as he floated a long-range free kick over an out of position Rangers 'keeper.
York League sides prospered in the North Riding and East Riding FA Cups.
Amotherby and Swinton beat Middlesbrough Post Office 2-1 through Simon Wall and Matty Biggins (pen) and there were wins too for East Riding teams Elvington, Riccall and Heslington who also go on to the semi-finals.
