HOSTS Moortown took advantage of the atrocious conditions to consign York RI to their fifth Yorkshire Three defeat in a row.
It all started badly for RI with a dropped pass in the fifth minute hacked through for a score. Five minutes later the move was repeated.
Driving runs by Chris Austin and Nathan Ashman brought RI within sight of the line and from a tap penalty Ashman dived over.
Two Matthew Yates' penalties brought a half-time score of 12-11.
For the first 15 minutes of the second half it looked as though RI could get something from the game as they pressed but an interception saw Moortown break to extend their lead to 17-11. Three tries in the last ten minutes sealed a 32-11 defeat for RI.
