Osbaldwick'S inability to raise a side seriously disrupted the latest round of games in division one of Hunters York and District Senior Indoor Cricket League. Both the first and third games of the session were lost.

Osbaldwick's runs per wicket average was drastically reduced, with no runs being accumulated at the expense of six wickets lost. Division one leaders Acomb 'A' and Rowntree 'A' each gained two points by concession.

Rowntree 'A' seemed to be cruising to victory in their match against Acomb 'A' but lost three wickets in the final two overs to fall six runs short of scoring a major upset.

After a rather expensive first over the Rowntree bowlers kept Acomb's batsmen in check. Scott Nicholls scored an unbeaten 35, Richard Sykes 27 not out and Dave Sykes 26 not out, and Acomb added 47 in the final four overs to reach 114-3.

While Acomb's running earned them 38 runs, Rowntree could add only ten runs by this method but moved to 105-3 in ten overs.

Paul Horner was stumped for 24 off the first ball of the penultimate over and was quickly followed by Dominic Atkinson, run out for 20. Tony Thomson was bowled for 29 by Dave Sykes off the second ball of the final over to leave Acomb six-run winners.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge reached 65 before losing their first wicket against Malton and Old Malton as Nick Scaling and Steve Crowder earned rest periods.

Greg Johnson took 3-30 and then Scaling and Crowder returned and scored 31 in the final two overs. Scaling was stumped for 31 and Crowder made an unbeaten 45 in a total of 112-5.

Malton scored 44 in five overs before Greg Johnson was caught by Mike Smith off Richard Armitage for 14. Wicketkeeper Peter Crowder then caught Neil Johnson for 19 and later stumped S Cass for 13 as Malton were dismissed for 81. Mike Smith took 2-19 and Armitage 2-21.

Stamford Bridge made a bad start against Sheriff Hutton Bridge, losing two wickets to successive deliveries in Mike Smith's opening over. Peter Aconley scored 39 before being run out off the final delivery, Stamford Bridge being dismissed for 84.

Andy Parkinson bowled Crowder for a duck, but Scaling, with an uncharacteristically patient 25 not out, and Peter Crowder, 26 not out, enabled the Bridge to secure a five-wicket win.

In the final game, Malton were dismissed for 81 by Stamford Bridge, who won without losing a wicket.
