Great news in the Yorkshire Evening Press (Wednesday, February 4) regarding Bootham Crescent, although I'd like to know more before before celebrating too loudly.
However, this is a great achievement by all concerned at York City, particularly the board.
It appears that some thanks should also go to Persimmon Homes, who have at last seen the need to consider carefully the requirements of York City and its fans.
However, a brickbat needs to go to Steve Galloway and his cronies at the City of York Council, who have been a bigger hindrance to the club than help.
I see that the Council planners are also being accused of putting obstacles in the way of the Odean cinema as well.
Nice to know that our Liberal Democrat-controlled council are such big supporters of the needs and welfare of the residents of York.
I dare say if we were discussing a tourism-related issue Mr Galloway could move mountains.
Roll on the next Council by-elections. York City fans have long memories.
Well done York City and the Evening Press.
Val Duggan,
York.
