EASYWORLD are travelling into a different musical place - and are hoping their fans will go with them.
This, their second album, takes a much more thoughtful and introspective direction than their previous, more rocky music. Signs at gigs, including last month's storming show at Fibbers in York, have been that the band are a bit wary about their new idea. Frontman Dav Ford even apologised for "another slow one" at one point. But it was clear the band have confidence in their new tunes and surely good sales of this record will bear this out. The Saddest Song has to be one of the best tunes ever written about the agony of a relationship break-up. Perhaps songwriter Ford has lost then loved again, as current single 'Til The Day paints a watercolour picture of love's unique delights. Lazy comparisons could be drawn with Coldplay, but Easyworld's world is darker, more complicated and full of intrigue. Well worth a visit.
