A YORK business has delved deep into its pockets and donated £14,000 to good causes.
Hunters Estate Agents, which has two offices in York, has given the money to York-based St Leonard's Hospice, Martin House Children's Hospice in Wetherby, St Monica's Hospital in Easingwold and Easingwold Cricket Club.
Keith Hollinrake, director of Hunters, said: "These local charities do a fantastic job under difficult circumstances and depend heavily on public contributions. In the past three years we have raised more than £60,000 for charity and hope to build on this further in 2004.
"As a successful regionally-based company, we're keen to maintain a good relationship with the local community and do whatever we can to help such deserving causes."
The money was raised through various charity events organised by Hunters for the local business community including a golf tournament and a fundraising ball.
Jean Fargher, manager of St Monica's Hospital, said: "We are delighted that Hunters has chosen us to benefit from the company's fundraising events."
