HEARTS glowed when children from Tadcaster East Primary School launched themselves into the "biccie" business.
The 28 children formed themselves into five small bakery companies to manufacture, package, market and sell their heart-shaped biscuits with red icing.
The work, carried out in the school kitchen and classroom with their teacher, Liz Moss, and York baker Fred Thomas, of Fred's Own Bake, in South Bank, Bishopthorpe and Copmanthorpe.
The budding bakers are packaging their product under the guidance of graphic design company, Rubber Band of New Earswick, for a bring-and-buy sale in aid of the Blue Peter Appeal next weekend.
The exercise was financed by North Yorkshire Business Education Partnership.
