WE have experienced the first flood situation in the area, due to minor snowfall, rapid thaw and a period of rain.
I drove through Stamford Bridge on Sunday night and the prospects did not look good. Buttercrambe Road flooded and water rising within the village.
Millions of pounds has been spent on a "flood defence scheme". Clearly it is a fiasco. Where does the buck passing stop? I predict that the scheme is a waste of time and public money. Perhaps Coun Hilary Saynor (Queen Kanute) may care to comment.
