OLD Malton's recent run of form in the Premier Division of the Leeper Hare York and District Football League came to an end against visitors Dringhouses.

Andy Barkway and Lee Bond, who netted on the stroke of half-time, put Dringhouses in command. Phil Hill pulled one back in the second half but Bond struck his second to ensure that Dringhouses kept in title contention.

Table-toppers Malton Bacon Factory blasted nine at Osbaldwick without reply. The hosts shared the opening exchanges and could have taken an early lead but once Darryl Craggs shot Factory into the lead on 20 minutes it was all one way traffic.

Craggs recorded a hat-trick before half-time and the goals continued after the break from Phil Marwood, another from Craggs and two each for Nigel Allen and Simon Collins.

Copmanthorpe remained in touch with the top after a 5-1 home win over Rufforth. Terry Hibbert netted after 15 minutes and after half an hour the Rufforth 'keeper failed to hold a Danny Parker shot and Graeme Butcher snapped up the rebound. Just after the hour Rufforth conceded an own goal and then pulled one back but Steve Cross netted the goal of the game with 20 minutes remaining and Butcher rounded things off.

Neil Sanderson netted for Bishopthorpe as they drew 1-1 with bottom of the table Nestle Rowntree and Black Horse won the Wigginton derby 2-0 with goals from James Luck and Chris McFee.

Pocklington slipped further behind the leading three after being held to a draw at home by lowly Kartiers. Neil Wilford gave Pock the lead but they failed to add to the score and surrendered two points to an Andy Woodall strike ten minutes from the end.

Dunnington were leading Tate & Lyle Selby thanks to an Andy Rose goal but the same player missed an easy chance in the last minute of the half. The Selby side made them pay with four second half goals before Rose netted again in the last minute.

York St John's College provided the shock of the day in division one when they inflicted the first defeat of the season on Haxby United.

Mark Scoreby gave Haxby the lead but second half goals from Michael Horsfield and Andy Sherlock (3) upset the formbook.

New Earswick and turned round one up at Crayke. The home side dominated the second half and equalised with an Andy Metcalfe (snr) goal on 70 minutes but then conceded a winner two minutes from time.

A goal by Andy Driscoll gave Post Office a 1-0 home win against Norwich Union but 'keeper Quinn did his bit to keep the Insurancemen out.

Thorpe thrashed struggling Civil Service 7-0 with goals from Chris Smith (2), Adam Garner, Dean Wood, Danny Crowther, James Tweedy and Gavin Clamp.
