I THANK Coun Carol Runciman for the comments in her letter (November 27) about the "consultation" on the council's proposal for future education requirements within the west of York.
I note, however, that Coun Runciman only comments on the article itself and not the two long letters I have written to the education authority - without response I may add - on the subject.
In these I indicated the reasons why I am ill at ease with the consultation procedure.
I have also offered alternatives for the council to consider such as redrawing catchment areas so as to allow both Oaklands and Lowfields to continue as schools and how proposed new housing development on Boroughbridge Road will bring additional pupils into the area etc.
Does anyone remember Beckfield and Queen Anne schools?
