TWO of York's hottest boxing prospects will top the bill at a Huntington Working Men's Club fight night on Wednesday.
England internationals Glenn Banks and Luke Atkin will put their skills on the line on an evening which will showcase the city's amateur talent.
Welterweight Banks, who hails from Huntington, is to face Leicester-based Wilf Smith, of the Heart of England ABA while his St Paul's ABC, Hull, team-mate Atkin will take on Joe Woodhouse (Unity ABC, Sheffield) in a junior welterweight contest.
Yorkshire and Humberside Schools' champion Atkin, a student at Burnholme Community College, has been in good form this year.
Three young fighters from York's All Saints ABC are also on the card.
Danny Holmes tackles Keiron Farrell (Bury) at 37 kilos, Danny Deighton will match his skills against Barry Bowler (St Paul's, Hull) at junior featherweight while middleweight Matt Wilcoxon faces Dave Miles (Meanwood ABC, Leeds).
