IT seems ironic that the police have launched a new, and probably costly, campaign to persuade people to actively report incidents of anti-social behaviour and other offences.
This is what we have been doing over the past years to no avail. Residents and parish councillors have reported details yet no action has been taken.
Tang Hall residents held a meeting on this subject and well done to them. But if they get the same support from the police that we did in Skelton then they will have just wasted their time.
Why do you think the parish council employed LeisureVend as our community ranger about three years ago?
The partnership between the parish council, residents and the community ranger has solved most problems in Skelton and the police have had very little involvement.
Forget the campaigns, forget the quangos such as Safer York Partnership; just get the police out on the streets to do the job they are paid to do then they will regain the respect they deserve from the public.
