Heworth 'A' moved one point clear at the top of the York Conservative Clubs' Carlsberg-Tetley Snooker League after beating third-placed Acomb 'A' 6-1.
Steve Burdett, Kevin Gall, Keith Lawrence, Jason Milner, Brian Shipley and Clive Whyte secured Heworth's win.
Gerald Mackenzie (32 break) gained Acomb's point by inflicting the second defeat in five games on Neil Wood, who the previous day had made a 135 break in practice.
Bootham 'A' beat Fulford 'A' 5-2 after Richard Stroughair (25, 20 breaks) had put Ful-ford ahead. John Darley, Ken Taylor, Brian Coulson, Mark Darley and Colin Robinson sealed the win, Simon Eng-land getting the other reply.
Acomb 'B' gained their first success by coming from 3-1 down to beat Heworth 'B' 4-3. Brian Birch, Chris Thompson and Alf Appleby won for Heworth against a Kevin Ven-tress reply but Paul Waites, Bob Ventress (24 break) and Ken Bowser turned it round.
Bootham 'B' won for only the second time this season by thrashing Fulford 'B' 6-1. Tim Fillingham, Fred Hough, Tony Lambert, George Long, Paul Mahoney and John Wortley got their wins, with Arthur Pegden replying.
Leaders Acomb opened a five-point advantage in the York Conservative Clubs' Slater Cup Snooker Pairs League with a 5-2 win over Fulford.
Acomb won the first four frames and, although Fulford took the fifth on the black and the final frame 75-38 by A Stephenson and A J Smith, Acomb took the aggregate.
Bootham's D Sorby and J Sykes took pinks and black to tie the first frame and were given the point as Heworth went in-off after sinking the re-spotted black. However, Heworth took the next six frames with the help of two black ball results.
Fulford made it five wins in six as they beat Heworth 5-2 in a rearranged York Conser-vative Clubs' Faber Shield Billiards League match.
Brian Bickerstaff (37 break), Wayne Puleston, Alan Reed (24 break) and Richard Stroughair (24 break) won for Fulford with replies from Alf Appleby and Chris Thompson.
Fulford remain three points adrift of leaders Acomb, who also made it five wins from six by beating Heworth 6-1. John Ashwell, Peter Lawson, Keith Myers and Bob and Trevor Ventress were Acomb's vic-tors, Huw Faircliffe replying.
Bootham 'B' moved into contention with a 6-1 victory over their 'A' team. Victors were Tim Fillingham, Tony Lambert (28 break), Paul Mahoney (21 break), Ray Stamp and Ian Robinson, who held on to defeat Ken Taylor (23x2, 25x2, 26 breaks) by nine points. Don Pringle replied by inflicting the first defeat on George Long.
