NIGEL DURHAM will hand the York Cricket Club captain's reins to Marcus Wood next season.
Wicket-keeper Durham, who will carry on playing for York, has decided to stand down as skipper after becoming a father and increased working commitments.
Wood has been Durham's vice-captain at Clifton Park for three years and his new assistant will be Robert Flack.
York finished third in last season's Yorkshire League table.
Andy Kay and Kevin Mendham will still be the respective second and third team captains but Tom Copeland has taken over from Phil Hulse as skipper of the fourth XI.
