NEVER mind that Alabama 3's night of country, blues and techno has sold out tonight (5th), you are still spoilt for choice at Fibbers, York.
Tomorrow The Beats Collective presents The Planets, Toastie Taylor and resident DJs Jed 104 and BigTim in the Beatsiality Club Night.
Sunday's headliners, Swearing At Motorists, are billed as a "two-man Who" from Dayton, Ohio. Dave Doughman is the singer, songwriter and guitar man; Joseph Siwinski is the drummer, and together they recall not only The Who but also the Replacements and early Elvis Costello on their album This Flag Signals Goodbye.
Ben and Jason bid farewell on Tuesday (9th), playing dreamy alternative-folk numbers from their final album, Goodbye. Support act Josh Ritter, a 24-year-old American singer-songwriter tipped for a breakthrough, promotes his debut album, Golden Age Of Radio.
On Wednesday, new John Peel favourites The Vaults will be joined by En-V, Customer 1000 and Acid Shower.
Amid the new names and departures, one Fibbers favourite returns: Guitarist, singer and songwriter Prendo plays the blues on Thursday (11th) with Paul Smith, drums, and Pete Bell, bass.
