BRIAN Pritchard has won a second crack at winning some glory for Harrogate at this year's UK Snooker Championship.
On Tuesday he will play Kevin Hopper in the Harrogate v York annual amateur challenge match in the CueZone tent at the Barbican Centre.
Pritchard, who lost to York's Tim Hart last year, won the knockout competition of the Manhattan Snooker Club earlier this week to decide who will represent Harrogate in the inter-town challenge.
He beat Tom Harris 2-1 in the Manhattan Club final, clinching victory on pink in the deciding frame.
Hopper, a member of York's team in the Yorkshire League, won the right to represent York when he beat Jordan Worobec in the final of the competition played at the Cueball Club in James Street.
Worobec made a 48 break on his way to winning the first frame. Hopper fired in two 30 breaks as he levelled the scores and then he took the deciding frame. Kevin Gall made the highest break of th competition, with a 60.
Tuesday's amateur match starts at 5pm. The winner gets a signed cue and two tickets to the UK final, the runner-up gets two tickets to the final.
