HOW strange that City Of York Council's education director, Patrick Scott, did not hasten to write in to correct a mistaken impression on proposed new schools.
Your text (November 20) said that a new school was to be built on the old St Barnabas school site, off Leeman Road.
In fact, what is proposed is building on what is literally a green field site (between St Barnabas' church and the river), where football is played at least once a week, which is also a "green wedge", supposedly protected as breathing space within the city, and, of course, also a flood plain.
It's almost as if the council had something to hide.
Patrick Morrow,
Stephenson Way, York.
