ONCE again the arrogance of York City Football Club directors comes through in their comments in the Evening Press (November 25).
The club has at long last put forward its planning application, but consultation with the athletics club is to take place after it has been submitted. Read into that what you will.
The club talks about construction taking place at various times, which implies that it will be granted planning permission. Don't get me wrong. I love football and I want City to survive, but not at the high price other users and residents will have to pay. Why has the club not consulted with local residents or given local residents the opportunity to look at the plans?
They could have easily had them on display at Huntington Stadium for all to see. City of York Council is in a no-win situation and the football club knows this. It has played a deceptive game by putting in the planning application late in order to put the council under pressure.
I would now request that City of York Council puts on display the plans for the proposed redevelopment of Huntington Stadium so that these can be seen by local residents.
Peter Richardson,
Merlin Covert,
Huntington, York.
