YORK swimmer Alan Clarkson picked up a silver medal at the National ASA Nasters at Sheffield in the 50m freestyle.
He clocked 32.40 seconds in the 65-69 age group and also figured in the York City Baths Club team which came third in the freestyle relay for squads with a combined age of between 240 and 279 years. Other members of the squad included Peter Kendrew, Dave Clegg and Duncan Brown.
Freestylers Clarkson (65+) and Brown (55+) also finished second in their 50m races for Yorkshire in the National Masters Inter County Championship at Harrogate.
Brown was also fourth in the backstroke and fifth in the breaststroke, both over 50m.
Four in each of the 11 swimmers in the men and women's teams were supplied by YCBC with Pat Baxter, Sue Silversides, Sabina Carr, David Clegg and Richard Smith also in action.
Carol Brown was also selected by had to withdraw after breaking her wrist the day before the event.
Yorkshire came third overall with 931 points, behind Warwickshire 1,050 and Sussex 1,034 and just ahead of Roses rivals Lancashire, who finished with 928.
