Yorkshire County Cricket Club were expected to confirm at a press conference today that former Championship winning captain, David Byas is to return to the club as head of cricket operations with Geoff Cope taking on a greater administrative role.
The news that Byas was on the verge of a deal to bring him back to Headingley was revealed in the Evening Press on Friday and his appointment will be rubber-stamped by chief executive Colin Graves.
Byas's involvement is one of a number of changes in cricket policy which Yorkshire will implement before the start of the new season and Graves is expected to announce what progress has already been made.
