YORK City boss Chris Brass is hoping to extend Sheffield Wednesday striker Jon Shaw's stay at Bootham Crescent.
Shaw made his full debut for the Minstermen in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Swansea, a result that extended City's unbeaten run in the league to seven games.
Shaw, 20, who had previously made two substitute appearances, came close to breaking the deadlock with an impressive long-range effort that Swansea 'keeper Roger Freestone just turned over the bar.
Signed on a month's loan from Hillsborough, Shaw's initial deal is due to run out in a couple of weeks time.
However, City player-boss Chris Brass has already seen enough and admits he would like to keep Shaw for longer.
Brass, who has held "preliminary" talks with Wednesday boss Chris Turner, said: "There is more to come from Jon.
"He is still learning but he is a strong lad and I'm sure he will be a good acquisition if we can keep hold of him.
"He has impressed me and I've been happy with his attitude and the way he has applied himself at the club."
While City stretched their unbeaten streak to seven league games, they have drawn six of those matches and have now just won once in their last ten outings in all competitions.
The point against Swansea was enough to move City back up a place to 11th in the Division Three table.
