Clifton Ladies travelled to Market Weighton and scored a good 8-1 win in York Badminton League ladies' division one.
Shelagh Barker and Karen Anderson were the pick of the Clifton pairs with three wins for 90-24, while Miriam and April Beales took the Weighton consolation with a 15-3 13-15 15-9 win over Karen Broster and Ronnie Davison.
A close men's division one match saw IT Sports visit Riverside and win 5-4. Paul Hardcastle and Stuart Fieldhouse did the damage for the visitors with three straight wins for 90-39.
However, Mark Hopwood and Mike Melsom won the match with a ninth rubber 6 and 4 win over Chris Swift and John Fowler.
Shepherds 'A' lost out 2-7 to both University Students 'A' and Clifton 'A'.
The best display came from the student pairing of James Croll and Manik Chakaravarti who took all three in straight sets for a return of 90-23.
The University Students 'B' team emulated their 'A' team with a 7-2 win over St John's in men's two. J Burch and P Barton topped the Student averages with a return of 90-29, including a 13 and 11 success over Liam Whittington and Joe Bartholomew, who took both St John's points.
Drax 'B' mauled visiting Knavesmire 8-1. Andrew Dunning and Adam Prescott top-scored with three wins for 105-64, while John Major and Alistair Jewison took the visitors' consolation with a 13-15 17-16 15-12 win over John Formby and Fran Milosejevic.
RI Tuesday/Thursday 'C' were good value for a 7-2 home win over Selby Jubilee 'B' in men's three. Mark Stenson and Colin Brooks took the Institute honours with three straight wins for a total of 90-35. Paul Newnham and Simon Benson were the pick of the Jubilee pairs after a good display.
York RI 'B' travelled to Rowntree 'A' and won an exciting mixed one game 6-3. Tim Jarvis and Emma Andrew put in the best Institute display with three wins for 90-19.
Huntington 'A' lost 1-8 at home to Clifton 'B' in mixed two. The match was closer than the final score suggested with seven rubbers going to a deciding end. Daniel Woolfson and Gill McIntosh top-scored with three wins for 102-69, while Clive Debenham and Theresa Roberts-Hardy took the sole home win with a 15-9 8-15 15-13 defeat of Phil Sinton and Ronnie Davison.
Selby Jubilee 'A' showed good home form to record an 8-1 win over RI Tuesday/Thursday 'B' in mixed three. Neil Richardson and Claire Frost were in scintillating form for Jubilee with three straight wins for 90-14.
Fulfordgate 'A' lost two matches in mixed five, going down 3-6 away to Selby Jubilee 'B' and 1-7 to Riverside 'B' in a time-affected match. Matt Hobman and Maureen Medlar took all three Fulfordgate points against Jubilee for a total of 90-45.
Drax 'D' played host to Terrys and won 7-2 in mixed six.
Ian Forman and Judy Wilson put in the best display for Terrys by going to a deciding end in each of their three rubbers.
