For the third time this season in Yorkshire Winter League the winner fished from peg 220 when the fourth round of the league took place on the Ouse from Hunters Lodge to Linton.
The match, with 80 competitors, was badly affected by sub-zero overnight temperatures.
The lucky angler who got the draw at peg 220 opposite the bungalows at Hunters Lodge was Andy Miller (Waterline Wibsey).
His only fish of the day was a massive bream of 8lb 10oz which snapped up his feeder fished caster and worm offering in the last hour.
Waterline Wibsey team captain Colin Hardy was runner-up. Fishing from the heavily fancied peg 10 at Thorpe Underwoods he offered chopped worm close to the overhanging tree below him and he bagged a brace of big perch that both nudged the 2lb mark. Hardy added a few roach on bomb and maggot for a total of 4lb 12oz.
Ian Fieldhouse (Waterline Wibsey) completed a great day for the Bradford-based outfit with 3lb 14oz of roach to stick and maggot on the long rod from peg 255 in the middle of the Linton stretch.
Others: Ricky Gaunt (Armley Angling) 3-10-8; Jim Jordan (Armley Angling) 3-10-0; Stan Haigh (Anglers World York) 3-8-0.
Teams: Waterline Wibsey 63pts; Hirst Tackle 'A' 59; Anglers World York 52; Selby 50; Armley Angling 49.
League: Hirst Tackle 'A' 8pts; Waterline Wibsey 10; Anglers World York 12 ; Selby 13; Hirst Tackle 'B' 19; Armley Angling 23.
The first serious frosts of winter hit the 69-field hard on Cedar Lake at the Oaks, with most finding it difficult to break double figures.
Mick Sykes (West Park) struggled to 17lb 10oz from peg 28, where he netted small carp to a pound fishing maggot over loose fed pellets at 11 metres.
Steve Rotheray (MAP Elton) was at peg 23, where he used similar tactics for an all carp 16lb 4oz.
Others: Kev Armitage (Team Glum) 15-15-0; Andy Purvis (Bob.Co) and John Allerton (Tri-Cast Whizzo) both 14-0-0; Daryll Taylor (Daiwa Goldthorpe) 13-6-0.
Despite low weights the fish were evenly spread around the main match lakes at Woodlands, the top four in Saturday's 56-entry all coming from different pools.
Anthony Stock (Elton Tackle) led from peg 17 on Curlew where he took 29lb 5oz of carp to 6lb on pole and corn at 12 metres.
John Bradshaw (Sensas Garbolino) was over on Wagtail 16 where he alternated pole and corn and a maggot feeder for a small carp bag of 24lb 1oz.
Others: Ken Ovenden (MAP Elton) 22-2-0; Shaun Cameron (Elton Tackle) 19-2-0; Neil Machin (Sensas Garbolino) 17-4-0; Keith Fryatt (Elton Tackle) 15-2-0.
Roy Worsnop (Bob.Co) won Sunday's Bob.Co open match at Carpvale from Cyprio Lake with 13lb 12oz. His winning net consisted of three carp on feeder and corn from peg 8.
Others: John Sykes (Bob.Co) 11-12-0; Mick Green (Leeds) 11-0-0.
