Stand-in scrum half Robin Grice scored a hat-trick of tries as York RI RUFC U17s beat previously unbeaten West Leeds 26-0 at New Lane.
Tom Heslop made the initial break from which Grice waltzed through several tackles before going over near the corner for the opening score. Gareth Stewart added the conversion.
After Olly Sowrey won a line out on 25 minutes, the RI pack re-cycled the ball and the backs' smart handling ended with a fine try for Tom Helstrip which was converted by Stewart.
RI's forwards dominated with Dan Hunt and debutant Danny Wright to the fore and RI moved further ahead with Grice's second try. Mark Musgrave tagged on the extras.
With five minutes to go Grice crowned a superb all-round performance when he followed up a break by Dan Hunt to skip over for his third try.
