FORMER Darlington defender Richard Hope will miss York City's trip to the Quakers' new Reynolds Arena on December 6.
Hope picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Leyton Orient meaning he must sit out the rearranged clash with his former club as he serves a one-match ban.
The news is a blow to City with Hope in particularly fine form of late and the Minstermen reaping the benefits of having a settled back three.
Since Hope, City-player-boss Chris Brass and Chris Smith have come together in defence, the red ranks have enjoyed a six-match unbeaten run.
In better news, Brass revealed contract talks have already begun in an effort to extend Hope's current three-month deal which runs out next month.
"We are in preliminary talks and it is fine," said the City chief.
"He is happy at York and I am happy with him.
"I gave him player of the month last month which shows how happy I am with him and I'm sure he'll be staying."
City reserves have an away game at Doncaster Rovers tomorrow (2pm) in the Pontins Holiday League.
