Severus WMC maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of York John Smith's Sunday Morning League division one with a gritty 3-1 win at Pocklington.

The victory was courtesy of two goals from Woodward and a McShane penalty.

Marcia had a relatively easy 6-1 win at bottom club Acomb WMC thanks to a hat-trick from Darlow and a brace for strike partner Young with Kettlewell netting the other.

Craig Fletcher put Ainsty Panthers in front against Derwent United and Dave Hide secured the points five minutes from time.

New Earswick took a first-half lead at Hounds through Neil Walker and looked to be heading for victory until a two-minute spell in the second period saw Hounds score three goals from Jackson (2) and Crowther.

A blistering second-half display from visitors Hemingbrough reduced Turpin's 100 per cent record in division three to tatters.

The teams went in 2-2 at the break, Cross and Brooke scoring for Turpin and Taylor (2) for 'Brough. However, the second half was a different story as Bennett smashed in two super strikes, Taylor completed his hat-trick and Aked and Teale also netted in a 7-2 rout.

Thornton (3), Ledgeway (2) and Newbold (2) were the heroes as Burnholme also hit seven against Black Bull, whose only reply came from Sargent.

Fulford suffered another defeat, this time to Boot & Slipper for whom Sibson notched a hat-trick. Haxby Lions took the lead through Ryan Foy at Inland Revenue but Ross Dixon hit a treble as the hosts romped home 8-2.

In the top-of-the-table clash in division four, Dave Robinson gave Copmanthorpe a lead they never relinquished against Barlby. Adam Dent (pen) made it 2-0 and, although Dean Butler replied, further strikes from Nick Lincoln and Robinson put the result beyond doubt despite Wilks' late consolation.

A Gareth Gray hat-trick saw Acomb Celtic climb off the foot of the table with a 3-1 win at The Plough. Heworth replaced them after a 4-1 home defeat to Kings Arms for whom Cowley scored twice. John Turbine hit three as Beeswing won 7-3 at Raskelf Rovers.

With Selby Olympia Reserves on cup duty, Black Swan missed the chance to regain top spot when they lost 4-1 to Wilberfoss, Newby scoring twice for the visitors to propel them to third place.

Andy Nicholson scored twice as Enterprise shared six goals with Burton Stone, who also had two goals disallowed.

Rumours moved up to fourth with a 5-1 win over Kingsway Riders, Adams and Paine each netting twice. South and Clarke (pen) were the scorers as Poppleton Road WMC beat Castle Howard Ox 2-1. Sebine scored as Britannia drew 1-1 draw at Gipsy Moth.

Skelton continued their merry march at the top of division six with a 3-0 win over F1 Racing thanks to another hat-trick from Neale Holmes, which takes him to 25 goals for the season. Theaker also got three as Poppleton Lord Nelson cemented second spot with a 7-2 win at Edinburgh Arms, despite going a goal down inside three minutes to a Chris Moate strike.

Albion Vaults moved up to third with a 4-2 win at high scoring Swans FC, White scoring twice in a game which saw both sides reduced to ten men after only 10 minutes.

Jason Davies got two as CPP ended their baron streak with a 3-0 win over Pocklington Rangers. Ian Hufton scored three as Green Vale Rangers won 4-2 at Wanderers, and Quaker Wood beat Firkin 103 2-1.
