Heworth'S Arriva Trains Conference division two game at Widnes St Marie's has been postponed as a mark of respect to Villagers' supporter Peter Clarke, the father of players Lee and Sam Clarke.
He died on Sunday and his funeral was due to take place this morning at Heworth Church.
Heworth player-coach Brendan Carlyle said: "He was a big fan of rugby league and never missed a game down at Heworth. We asked Widnes St Marie's if we could postpone the game as a mark of respect and they agreed.
"From the coaching staff and all the players, he will be missed."
