THREE up and coming rugby league referees from York were invited to a recent player performance camp for elite juniors.
Ten young officials in total were asked to attend, five from Yorkshire and five from Lancashire, and three of the White Rose refs came from the Minster city.
They were Tom Benson, 17, and 18-year-olds Shane Daniel and Gareth Evans.
York Rugby League Referees' Society secretary Stuart Evans said: "This was excellent for the York area to have such a high percentage at the camp."
Anyone wanting to have a go at being a rugby league referee can attend a two-day course on December 5 in Dewsbury.
