QUEEN Margaret's School's hockey team are the new Under-18 county champions.
Victories over Giggleswick (3-0), Scarborough College (2-0) and Richmond (4-0) saw Margaret's - the York and District representatives - lift the North Yorkshire trophy in Scarborough and qualify for the Northern Area semi-final of the national schools' competition.
They now travel to Leeds Metropolitan University on Sunday, November 30, in the next stages.
Queen Margaret's U16s, who like their older school friends won their district competition, narrowly missed out on a Northern Area semi-final place when they finished second behind Claro Craven side St Aidans.
A 1-0 victory over St Peter's means Margaret's U15s have retained the York and District Trophy for another year.
Margaret's won their section before beating Bootham 2-0 to set up the final meeting against their Clifton rivals.
Elsewhere, the school's cross-country team has qualified for the Northern Regional final.
And the U15 tennis team reached the national quarter-finals after finishing third in the north of Britain.
