BOMBARDING the audience with a fusillade of funnies, exiled Scot Danny Bhoy turned run-of-the-mill occurrences into rip-roaring anecdotes.

You only wished you could recall a fraction of them - to give your mates the impression you are a master of wit and wisdom - but before you know it, he's darted off on another frighteningly perceptive yarn steeped in a blizzard of high humour.

Danny immediately placed a reasonably-sized crowd at ease, wowing punters with his Celtic charms.

Half-Scot, half-Asian, the London-based comic's cosmopolitan background was reflected in a diverse set touching four corners of the planet.

After a lengthy stint touring Australia Danny, 27, appears to hold the Land Of Oz dear to his heart.

"Harsh, but fair", is his verdict on those far from shy residents Down Under, epitomised in the Aussie government's catchy campaign to stamp out boozy drivers: 'Don't drink drive - you bloody idiot!'

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Danny's set is how he repeatedly digressed on a myriad of topics... before returning an awe-struck audience back to the start of a segment, sometimes up to ten minutes later.

Pacing the stage in furious fashion, a bizarre range of topics were covered including: undercover crocodiles, uncompromising situations with kangaroos and wine-tasting with British snobs.

Judging by last night's impressive York gig, Danny Bhoy is one confident stand-up whose career is rocketing.

In a just world - where talented comics are cherished, not rewarded with an ITV graveyard shift - his already burgeoning career certainly won't sink like a stone.
