A TEENAGE girl was subjected to a serious sexual assault by two men as she walked on a footpath in York
The girl, who was 13, was walking on the path in Huntington when she was attacked.
Police in York are now searching for two men in their 20's thought to be responsible. The girl was walking along the footpath known as the Sleeper Path, between Huntington Road and New Earswick, near to St Andrew's Church, when she was attacked just after midnight last Saturday.
Tony Lidgate, North Yorkshire Police spokesman, said: "The girl was attacked by two men believed to be in their 20s as she walked from Huntington Road to New Earswick along a foot way known as Sleeper Path, which runs alongside St Andrew's Church, Huntington.
"Police want anyone in that area at the appropriate time, that is around midnight, or anyone who has knowledge of this attack, to contact them."
It is thought the two men may have made off along Huntington Road in a small dark vehicle.
The girl is being cared for by her family.
