Selby reckon they are in with a great chance of pulling off an upset in the Intermediate Cup third round on Saturday.

They have home advantage at Sandhill Lane against Broughton Park, who are bottom of the Powergen North 2 West Division with just one win in eight games.

Selby make four changes to the side which lost at home to Goole last week, two of them positional, for the match against Park, one of the oldest established teams in England.

Winger Paul Scott reverts to full-back with Hamish Burns switching to stand-off replacing Toby Pemberton.

Prop forward Paul Gabel is rested with Ian Copperwheat starting in his place. Martin Protheroe comes into the side on the wing.

Selby have named four substitutes with their final choice to come from Duncan Phillips, who has just returned from the World Cup in Australia, Mark Tomlinson, Toby Pemberton and Shaun Austerfield, who is back in training after a knee injury.

The game is seen as an opportunity for Selby to get back to winning ways before returning to their Yorkshire One campaign with a tough looking trip to Huddersfield YMCA next week followed by another home clash with current leaders, Pontefract

Among the few league fixtures scheduled this weekend is Harrogate's National Two trip to Rosslyn Park.

It is the type of game Ralph Zoing's team must win if they are to have genuine promotion ambitions as the London side have managed only a couple of league wins this season.

Malton and Norton were to have been in Yorkshire Shield action tomorrow, but opponents Wakefield Cougars have conceded so the men from The Gannock will go straight through to the second round to be played on Saturday, December 13.

Instead of facing the Cougars tomorrow, Malton will entertain Cleckheaton in a club match (2.15pm).

Malton and Norton stages the East Yorkshire Mini Tournament on Sunday with the action kicking off at 10.30am.

York take the opportunity of a break from North One action to rest a few players but are heading to Yarnbury for a friendly fixture.

"Playing a match will help keep the team together and keep players in trim," said coach Andy Gair.

The club have announced that their Veteran's tournament at Clifton Park on Sunday, March 14 has been endorsed by the North Yorkshire Club's Committee and the RFU.

It is hoped that the competition will attract several clubs from the region and will be used to help get veteran players involved in administration and coaching at their own clubs.

Pocklington do not have a scheduled 1st XV game on Saturday and have a group of players and supporters going to the Great Britain Rugby League Test at Hull.

However, they have arranged to play Driffield 'A' at Percy Road (2.15pm) and have picked a useful young squad that includes seven teenagers. Pocklington's fellow Yorkshire Three side York RI are without a game.
