Selby Town rode their luck to beat Hallam 2-1 in the first round of the Yorkshire Under-19 League Cup.
The South Yorkshire side dominated the opening stages but failed to take their any of their many chances and the young Robins went ahead against the run of play when debutant Andrew Metcalfe converted Lee Gemell's pass.
Selby's lead was short-lived as Hallam equalised two minutes later but the Flaxley Roaders improved in the second period and snatched the winner with a 25-yard freekick from Dale Huntington after Jason Roughley had been brought down.
