York RI Rugby Union Club Under-17 side belatedly played their first home game of the season and beat Selby 26-5.
Second rows Gareth Stewart and Tom Helstrip scored RI's opening tries, Tim Thomas converting both.
Just before half time Craig Garnett scored in the corner and Thomas added the extras.
Selby then went close several times before Greg Fowler crashed over from a rolling maul.
RI's Shaun Thompson and Stewart were held up over the line but RI were not to be denied and Tom Heslop kicked the ball deep for Garnett to hack ahead and score. Thomas slotted over the conversion.
