YORK Techical College music student Karl Moon is on song.
The 16-year-old Rillington driver has won the BRDC Formula Ford single seater Winter Series after dominating the last two finals on the National circuit at Silverstone.
He qualified on pole for both races and won the first race by over eight seconds in dry conditions and the second race by over 45 seconds on a wet track.
It was a remarkable feat as Moon, who has just switched from karting, had never driven a car let alone a race car in the wet before.
The races were watched by former Formula One world champion Jackie Stewart, who is president of the BRDC.
Moon now faces a difficult task of having to raise funding to continue what could be a promising career.
