CB United ended their 18-month wait for a York & District Sunday League victory in a 12-goal thriller at Cedarwood.

Braces from top scorer Rich Mills and Keith Potter helped secure a 7-5 division two victory with Dave Thomson, Polish striker Stefan Dzivezynski and Graham Morrsion also on the scoresheet.

Fox replied with a hat-trick for Cedarwood with Carney getting the home team's other two goals in a see-saw encounter.

Cedarwood twice went ahead in the early stages through Carney and Fox only for Potter to level the scores both times with his second equaliser coming from a penalty.

Mills then gave United the lead for the first time but Fox made it 3-3 from the spot with the last kick of the first half.

Thomson edged the visitors back in front early in the second half before Fox completed his treble.

But CB then took control with goals from Mills, Dzivezynski and sub Morrison, who netted with his second touch, putting daylight between them and their hosts.

Carney pulled another goal back for Cedarwood but it was a case of too little, too late.

Elsewhere, leaders Huntington Juniors lost their unbeaten record in a 4-2 defeat against Gimcrack, Cottage Inn triumphed 7-5 at Knavesmire, Forest beat Shoulder of Mutton 3-1, struggling Wiggington Grasshoppers lost 4-2 to Drum and Yearsley edged a nine-goal thriller against Bayhorse United.

In division one, Clifton's fine form continued with a 5-3 win over St Johns College. Paul Beddingham hit a hat-trick and Moynhan and Butler joined him on the scoresheer.

Elsewhere, Black Dog thumped newly-promoted Clifton Rangers 11-0, Heworth overcame Rawcliffe United 2-0 and Saville AV were 5-3 winners at College of Law.
