Huntington School has received an award to mark the 12th anniversary of a scheme to encourage staff to fulfil their potential.
Investors In People is designed to improve the performance of an organisation by sharing good methods of working.
Those wanting to achieve the standard can get help and support on how to go about it from Business Link York and North Yorkshire and the Learning and Skills Council North Yorkshire.
The two groups have highlighted Huntington School as an example of an organisation putting Investors In People to the best use.
The school was praised for a number of staff initiatives, including buying everyone a chocolate egg at Easter and holding a meeting every term for the 84 support staff.
Head teacher, Chris Bridge, said: "The aim of a school is to get the best possible results from its pupils while they are at school.
"A school's results are the product of everything that goes on in the school environment and the fact that we have Investors In People means we are working in the right ways to drive forward with real momentum."
