York Acorn Under-16s held strong at the end to beat Oulton Raiders 12-10 in an exciting game.
Acorn went in front early with a Lee Acaster try and Timmy Elliott goal, but Oulton hit back with two tries, one converted.
Acorn showed a tenacious will to win with a great try by Adam Winterburn, with Elliott's conversion decisive.
Men of the match were Elliott and Karl Harton, while Billy Gillan also impressed.
Controversial refereeing featured as a 12-man York Acorn U15s lost 16-10 to unbeaten Milford.
Milford scored from their first attack and although the conversion sailed under the bar the referee gave it, while after the scores had been tied at 10-10 in the second half, some curious refereeing - allied to poor handing - helped Milford get the winner.
Acorn's tries came in either half from Scott Jackson and Lee Spain, the second goaled by Lee Botterill. Man of the match was Dean Wardell.
New Earswick All Blacks U14s had the better of the first half but eventually succumbed to the power and pace of visitors Whinmoor Warriors to lose 42-28.
All Blacks tries came from the outstanding Pat Smith (2), Brian Wright, Chris Young and Sean McArthur, with Smith adding two conversions.
Another impressive defensive display came from top tackler Dan Lofthouse.
A superb show saw York Acorn U13s get their first win of the season with only nine fit players as they beat Hunslet Parkside 18-16.
Try-scorers were debutant forward Thomas Wadsworth, with a 30-yard run, man of the match Daniel Lee from his own 20-metre line, Nathan Potter, who side-stepped the full-back after being set up by Mike Green, and Daniel Whittaker, who was set up by Potter's kick and gather.
Oliver Hare guided a new pack and Potter showed skill in the backs, while the defence was superb with centres Kyle Illingworth, Harry Gunnell and full-back Grant Spain impressing.
Selby Warriors U11s proved their improvement as they gave Garforth a good game before losing 28-10.
The Warriors had lost to the same opposition by 50 points a month ago and it looked ominous when Garforth scored three tries early in the first half, two of them gifted.
However, Selby came back into it through top tackler Connor Smith and coach's top man, Luke Liddle.
Selby's man of the match was Kurt Cookson, while most improved player James Gooding helped to set up Ady Davison's first-ever try and Carl Wilkinson scored the best try of the game.
Eddie Smith was man of the match but couldn't prevent York Acorn U11s losing 12-10 to Castleford Panthers.
Acorn started well with a try from Ryan Hamilton converted by Callum Hannigan and strong defence from Sam Orange.
But Panthers went 12-6 up after the break and, although good work from Hamilton, Orange, Carl Loft and Gareth Smith led to a try for Kyle Brown, Acorn's hard work could not muster a winning score.
Heworth U9s lost to a well-drilled Methley side who used the ball well. Daniel Coulson was man of the match, Spencer Mitchell, who scored two tries, topped the tackle count with a huge tally of 34 and Harry Deighton was most improved player. Alex Clough and William Barratt also scored a try each.
One player scored a bagful of tries to condemn Selby Warriors U9s to a 40-8 defeat at East Leeds.
Selby's tries came from Thomas Wales and Robert Nicholls, who topped the tackle and drive count and scored despite having six tacklers on him.
Men of the match were Jacob Bate and Dean Spooner and most improved was Jordan Chambers, while the Lancaster twins, Mathew and James, also impressed on the wings.
There will be no more matches for this age group until March due to the winter break.

Joseph Jackson was Heworth's man of the match thanks to a tenacious display, Nathan Hammerton topped the tackle count and Michael Connor was most improved. Tries came from Liam Forshaw (3), James Kilmartin (3) and Jackson (2).
All the team had a fine match as New Earswick All Blacks U8s enjoyed a deserved 4-3 win at Hunslet Parkside. The men of the match were try scorers Liam Lowson and Nathan Balcomb. Top tackler was Natasha Turner and most improved were Josh Moran and Jonny Marwood.
Whole team takes the man of match prize
A strong performance brought New Earswick All Blacks U11s a fine 24-16 win at Normanton.
Although Joel Johnson was the scoring hero with a hat-trick, the man of the match award went to the entire team. Adam Johnson and Jake Mawer also crossed with Dean Layton and James Leaf, who played his best game for the club, adding goals.
Mawer and Joe Johnson drove down the centre well, while Tom Barron, Liam Dawson and Johnson were outstanding in defence.
