York Under-11 schoolboys crashed out of the West Yorkshire Cup losing 6-2 to a strong Hull side.
Again York were missing seven squad members who, due to half-term commitments were unavailable.
Hull started the game strongly and found themselves 3-0 up within 20 minutes. York struggled to contain the Hull forwards and it was left to stand-in captain Jamie Forbes-Walker to prevent further success for the travellers.
Any chance York had of gaining something from the tie faded within five minutes of the restart.
A decisive move took Hull four goals clear and a collapse looked imminent.
However, to York's credit, they continued to pressurise Hull and man of the match Chris Bilton was rewarded for his endeavour when firing home from just inside the area.
Tom Richardson then quickly reduced the deficit with his second goal in two games for York and Hull looked shaken.
But it was not to be and two late strikes gave Hull a 6-2 victory.
York are back to full strength for the trip to Spen Valley in their first league encounter on Saturday, November 8.
