CITY of York I made it three wins on the run when they beat arch-rivals Ben Rhydding I 4-3.
Coach Jason Russell has worked on altering City's style and adopting a new system that allows for greater flexibility and quicker attacking options and it was put into effect against Rhydding. City were so much in charge that the half-time score could well have been 5-0.
A strong shot from Russell put City in the lead and they went further ahead when Glyn Humphrey put away a chance created by Jimmy Gilbert.
After the break, a well-worked team move opened up Ben Rhydding's defence for Fozzie Foster to add a third from close range.
Then the game took a dramatic turn as Ben Rhydding scored three goals in just ten minutes.
But, spurred by Alex Gutteridge, City pulled themselves together and a 12-pass move routed the visitors for coach Russell to nab his second goal. From then on City were in complete command as they confirmed third place in the NHL Premier Division.
City of York II coped with Stockton I's unpredictable pitch to win 3-0.
Promoted to the side, Kyle Hogg made an early impression as he rounded the 'keeper before cracking home a firm shot.
Five minutes later another break culminated in John Raper scoring from a rebound from the 'keeper's pads. From this point Stockton's game deteriorated and City took over, Hogg and Chris Dutton causing all kinds of problems.
Stockton began to lose some of their discipline and had one player yellow-carded before half-time.
In the second half City held firm with Kevin Shrimpton, Karin Ramli and James Redpath controlling midfield and after several short corners in a row Rob Anderson scored City's third with a reverse stick shot.
City of York III won 4-2 at York University I after taking the lead in the first five minutes with a short corner strike from Peter Perryman.
