There were no shocks in the Leeper Hare York and District League Reserve Cup although Reserve 'A' outfit Osbaldwick lost at New Earswick and Hamilton Panthers gave Dringhouses a run for their money.

Craig Goodchild's 50th minute strike was enough to see New Earswick into the next round, while it took a last-minute Richard Burnett goal before Dringhouses could relax in their 4-2 win.

Jim McMurray, Jamie Backhouse and Colin Rayner had earlier scored for Dringhouses with Steve Gagen (2) replying for the Panthers, who were going all out for the equaliser when Burnett struck.

Huntington were three up at Copmanthorpe, courtesy of Mark Gamble (2) and Chris Dower, before Gavin Mears (pen) and Alistair Hammerton brought the hosts back into it, and Rovers had to hang on for the final whistle.

Nestle Rowntree won by the odd goal in seven at Barmby Moor, for whom Tim Fennell added two to an own goal, while Bacon Factory won by the same margin in a thriller at Tockwith.

Tom Oxtoby, Danny Boyes and Charlie Poste had put them clear but the hosts hit back through Philip Atkinson (2) and Phil Darling - only for Poste to net a Factory winner in the last minute.

Robin Bedford (2) and Adam Whalley saw York St John through by a 3-1 scoreline at Old Malton, Carl Sawdon replying.

Goals by James Dexter and Jon Machin set Haxby on their way at Easingwold and, although a goal by Lee Goodwin kept things on tenterhooks, Carl Kidds netted Haxby's third late on to make sure of the victory.

Norwich Union gave a good account at Wigginton Black Horse but were edged out 3-2 with all the goals in the second half.

Angus Clapham, Adam Smith and James Wood were Black Horse scorers with Adrian Ogden and Nick Henshaw replying.

Riccall managed their first win of the season in Reserve 'C', 2-1 at Rufforth after falling behind to a Paul Moss strike.

Gareth Roberts and Liam Bradley got their goals.
