Without hitting any great heights, Pocklington were still too strong for visitors Stocksbridge and ran out comfortable 35-0 winners in Yorkshire Three.

Seventeen-year-old full-back Charlie Allen got things underway with a fifth-minute drop goal, then the ball was moved smartly along the line for left-winger Fergus Purtill to sprint over, Allen converting.

Pock remained in the driving seat and Allen kicked a penalty then converted John Ainslie's try when the number eight powered over from a scrum.

That gave Pocklington a 20-point interval lead, but they failed to take full advantage in the second half, despite occasional bursts of enterprising rugby that included three further excellent tries.

More good back play saw Purtill race in for his second, then Allen touched down to give him a full scoring set.

Pocklington wrapped things up with their fifth try when good inter-passing from their own half down the left flank ended with the ball being turned inside for supporting lock Stewart Rowley to gallop over.
