SURPRISE, surprise, the tourist-orientated council wants more money so York residents have got to cough up again with an increase in council tax. But, what does the council do for residents?
Our city is still without a bus dropping-off zone. An ideal site would have been where the new Ramada Hotel is now positioned.
Perhaps we may get one in the new development in Rougier Street where the original bus dropping-off zone was.
The council could have helped York City FC - a worthy cause - by putting a compulsory purchase order on the ground. But oh no, let the directors get richer.
And who gave permission for that monstrosity of a building at the end of Lord Mayor's Walk?. It blends in with nothing, least of all the old college and bar walls. A design of that structure is meant for a modern business park, not York.
