DRINKERS in York were treated to some Hallowe'en magic with their very own magician in a box.
Inspired by oddball American David Blaine, who spent 44 days in a box above the Thames, the deputy manager of York's Pitcher & Piano decided to spend his Hallowe'en sealed in a plastic box.
Jody Milton, 27, started the three-hour stunt at 8pm last night in the back bar of the riverside pub.
Dressed as a seventies magician and going by the stage name David Blayne, Jody entertained the crowds with card tricks and written messages. He said: "At our bar we are all about having a good time. I thought I would get into the Hallowe'en spirit and put on a show for our customers."'
This is not the first time staff at the Pitcher & Piano have performed entertaining stunts.
The bar's chef changed his name by deed poll to Carls Berg to amuse the customers.
