THREE "monks" are going on a pilgrimage from their East Yorkshire home to a West Midlands cathedral.
But the trio are not flesh and blood monks. The 134-mile journey from Pocklington to Coventry is being completed by the clay creations of a local sculptor.
Chris Wormald, of Osiris Sculptures at Pocklington Industrial Estate, has been commissioned to make the lifelike friars by Coventry Cathedral. They will form part of an exhibition of the cathedral's original foundations which were found during a recent excavation.
Osiris will be running a four-session workshop on portrait sculpture. The £220 course will start on Saturday, November 8. Phone Mr Wormald on 01759 306638 (daytime) and 01759 380484 (evening).
